wistful....
It’d be so great if I would stay just 20 foreva. The whole growing up and the jittery feeling . Abstruse isnt it?? Seeing people same age already working, some unambitious one settled. Yeah!! Thinking abt it gets that feeling of liabilty towards so many things around.
I am 20, young, talented, ambitious with an intelligent mind of my own. I don’t want to wake up, go to college everyday, eat, sleep, be a part of the rat race day and night. NAH!! I want to rather go out, travel, meet new people, try doing all crazy things in life, follow my instincts instead of thinking about repercussions. Be childish, at the same time matured. Read books on whicheva subjects interest me.NOT carin abt writin exams on them and getting distinctions. See the sun rise and sunset from the top of the mountains. In the blithe away from the hustle bustle of the regular life, away from the tiff with people around. Write a novel. Be ‘sans souci’ like a bird souring higher and higher dashing against the winds. Feeling them pierce inside. Feel the exhilarating feeling of a roller-coaster and the chills from a horror movie. Be it whetva.
But for sure I want to live my life the best and the way I want it to be. Every part of my life should be full of flamboyant colours.

Waggishness
Next day early morning we packed up n flew to Delhi. Carrying all the qualms with the driver and his wife we drove to the mid-city to pick up my aunt and cousin. We stopped at this dingy place for late lunch. A cotton stained cloth was neatly laid on the wooden table. The ceiling had a coat of cob web on it. And in front was this old fashioned air cooler which could just blow you away. After sufficing our empty stomachs we pushed off to our destination.. I don’t really remember our drive to haldwani because I was in the astreal world throughout. The excitement level had reached its peak when we met shrey, bhua and fufaji. The house was pretty spacious with all the necessities and lavishness carefully included. It was beautifully decorated with wind chimes and other exquisite pieces. We had our dinner and went off to sleep. All of a sudden I could feel some hand shaking me I heard a faint voice. Waking up I realized it was my chachi who had given us a surprise. But we were too tired and sleepy to react to the whole scene. Our feverishness was realized over at tea next day morning. All geared up we were off to Nainital. On the way bharat and kriti joined us.
The way to nainital had steep curves and turns and the sight was hills all around. The weather just matched our frequency. Cloudy skies n barely any sight of sun. we stopped to have corns on our way. No one could have just one. The spicy mint paste added to the flavour of delectable corns. Two hours and we had reached naini-the lake. Wandered aimlessly the place around and ate junks here n there. And then we left to meet our cuddliest cousin-shruti. Her college was higher on the hills and it was one of the old buildings with everything at an height higher than the other. Beautifully scattered with faces from all parts and races. Next two hours were just talking and laughing and eating with photography sessions on. Then we went on the steeper hills and shopped from the bhutia market. The place was real cramped up with all the chinkies selling out things and customers screaming their guts out to save a pie or two. And then was the most thrilling experience of boating with cold winds brushing against our body. We sang songs merrily and enjoyed the bitter cold under the sky floating on the iced water. And the first day of our trip had already became memorable. We went back home looking forward to our next trip- bhimtal and naukuchiyatal.
We left in the morning next day to the back side of the same hills where a small town with all contented people away from the huzzle buzzel of the city was set up. Air was filled with intoxication and the purple flowers carried its smell with it. Boating and exploring the lake stimulated our nerves. Then we left for this resort situated on a higher accent. Lake side view, flowers all around, carefully served luscious lunch, table tennis, carom board, badminton rackets and a fun-loving family. What more can one ask for? Evening we reached the bird sanctuary which to our disappointment was shut down. Those fifteen minutes were precious. Somehow uncovering the sheaths which lay on the net of the birds we saw a white peacock with its feathers all wide open and greeting us a warm welcome. Its legs danced to the tune of chachu s whistle. One of the most breath taking, eye-catching and winsome sight ever. Then happily tired we got back home.
Next day was waiting for us. Jim Corbett national park was our next hub. Three days in JC we traversed the whole forest in this open gypsy. We stayed in the cottages with a view totally describing the scenic beauty. Lovely hills and green grass and stream of water flowing in it. The most adventurous part of our holiday was the dense, deep jungles established by Jim Corbett in 1936 but looked so fresh n new n green. We spotted around 20 different species of birds including brown owl, fish pecking owl, peacocks and kingfishers. Male birds were all vibrant with striking colours but female ones were in dull grey shades. Animals included wild elephants, spotted deer, barking deer, sambar deer, magar , one of the rarest species marten. Marten was this black coloured and in grey shades with its back movements resembling the crests and troughs of a wave. But the most awaited hunt of ours tiger could not be spotted on the first two days. One of the evenings we were in the kernels of the jungle on an elephant. Two hours of realization that the nature is full of small insignificant colourful insects and wild flowers. The bon voyage to the forest and we heard the alarm calls by the barking deer. We had lost all hopes of spotting a tiger. We waited for an hour or so kept driving from one end of the tracks of the animal to the other and Alas! We could not believe our eyes. A tiger just crossed the road ten metres ahead our gypsy. Everyone was quiet but each breath was nerve-racking. Quietly we moved away from the scene and reached our cottage. It was time for us to pack and leave the national park memories behind.
On our way back we went to Jim Corbett fall. Relaxed on the rocks with our legs dangling in water. Guys had their share of fun bathing in that cold soothing and massaging fall. we crossed the river on the ropes reducing the friction with those iron hooks. And then our holiday was nearing its end. We reached home packed up and slept. Next day we drove down to delhi n then flew back to kolkata. We reached home and its been over a week and we still talk about our astounding and fantastic trip to Haldwani.
